Build 42 turns wildlife into a real long-term food and material system. Tracking is not a GPS arrow: Search Mode reveals prints, resting signs, feeding marks and droppings that suggest a corridor. Hunting becomes useful once your first-week food is stable and you can safely move through rural ground without turning every trail into a zombie detour.
Animal husbandry becomes reliable only after the pen is reliable. Build the livestock zone, shelter, food/water routine and gates before you capture valuable animals. Once that infrastructure is boring and predictable, eggs, milk, wool, manure, breeding and surplus meat can become one of the strongest long-term food/material systems in Build 42.
