Red Walker's shoulder bag starts embarrassingly small, and his stamina bar is not much better. Silver Pines hides the fixes in plain sight: 9 inventory upgrade pouches that expand your grid, and 7 coffee machines that permanently raise stamina, one cup at a time. Both sets have their own achievement — Walking Storage Box and This is my 7th Cup Today — and both sets are staggered across the town so that each new district pays you for exploring it properly. This guide lists every location in the order you are likely to reach them, with the tool or errand that gates each one.
At a glance
Inventory pouches: 9 — each adds grid space to your bag
Stamina upgrades: 7 — drink coffee at 7 specific machines
Achievements: Walking Storage Box (all pouches), This is my 7th Cup Today (all coffees)
Gating tools to watch: a firearm, the Box Cutter, bathroom/gate keys, the cable car
Fiddliest pickup: Pouch 8, on the mountain — falling costs health
Inventory pouches: all 9 locations
Crimson Bear Motel — Pouches 1 and 2
Pouch 1 is the game's first lesson in looking up. At the Motel, head upstairs outside Room 5, jump left across to the shed roof, cross it, drop down and keep moving left. The pouch waits at the end of that little rooftop detour.
Pouch 2 needs a gun, so it waits for a return trip. Go back to the arcade outside the Motel, shoot the padlock off to the right, then look up and shoot the grate. Climb up and through; the pouch sits inside a beer crate.
Ferry Station — Pouch 3
After you take out the first boss in the tunnel, head to the Ferry Station. Inside you will see the cat (pet it — that is an achievement too). Take a left and slash through the curtain with the Box Cutter. The room behind it holds Pouch 3.
Riverside — Pouch 4
At the Riverside gas station, where you pick up the flashlight, find the bathroom key in the same building — it is there before you speak to the unnamed lady. Once you are out of the garage, enter the toilets and slash the curtain to find Pouch 4 behind it.
Union Apartments — Pouch 5
On the fourth floor of the Union building, head to the stairwell. The pouch hangs down and to your right, somewhere you could see but not reach earlier in the building. If you spotted it on the way up and wondered, this is the moment it pays off.
Town Hall — Pouch 6
In the Town Hall basement, move past the furnace to the right and crouch under what looks like a blockage. Go through the door on the other side; Pouch 6 is in that room.
Downtown — Pouch 7
The man digging in northwest Downtown is a long-running errand. Once the story lets you take the cable car back down from the mountain, return to his spot: the hole is dug, the man is gone, and his caravan is finally open. Pouch 7 hangs just inside. Take his shovel from the right of the caravan while you are there — it is a tool you will need.
Mt. Siah Kopa — Pouch 8
Just after the cable car delivers you to the top of the mountain, the arrival area floor collapses — twice. Go to the right side of the upper gap, drop down, and immediately hold up to grab the second ledge below. Jump two gaps to the left and Pouch 8 is yours. Bring health: a botched drop here costs you, and the nearest payphone is not close.
Thelend Broadcasting — Pouch 9
The final pouch is in the endgame building. Inside the Thelend Broadcasting Station, reach the Stage, then enter the room to its left. Shoot out the vent up to your right, climb up, and jump across the rafters to reach Pouch 9.
Stamina upgrades: all 7 coffee machines
Stamina in Silver Pines is upgraded by drinking coffee, because of course it is. Seven machines across town each give one permanent upgrade. They are front-loaded — all seven sit in the first two-thirds of the game — and the achievement This is my 7th Cup Today pops at the last one.
The opening diner. At the very start of the game, brew coffee in the diner for upgrade
1. Free, immediate, and easy to walk past if you rush out the door.
The Quiet Hours Cafe. Shortly after you get off the ferry into town, step inside the cafe for upgrade
2. Say hello to the cowboy while you are there (see our weapons guide).
Dana's Repair Shop, Riverside. Cross the bridge to Riverside and head right. The machine sits behind a padlocked door in the repair shop.
Union Building, room 1C. On the ground floor, enter 1C, shoot out the mirror on the left and climb through into 1B. The machine is beyond, past two enemies.
Town Hall classroom. On the first floor of the Town Hall, the classroom holds upgrade 5.
Parish Hall, Church Hill. Just after arriving at Church Hill, enter the small Parish Hall. The machine is inside, behind a padlocked door — the same building complex that hides the area's paper map.
The shack past the Motel. The last cup requires the ferry running again: return to the original island, go past the Motel, and enter the shack that is only reachable now. Maximum stamina, and the achievement, are inside.
Which upgrades matter most?
If you are routing a fast run rather than a 100% sweep: Pouches 1 through 4 and coffees 1 through 3 all land in the game's opening stretch and change how the rest of it feels — a bigger grid means fewer storage-box trips, and stamina is what sprinting, dodging and heavy swings all draw from. Pouch 7's caravan trip is the other high-value detour, because it bundles a pouch, the shovel, and progress toward a Gold Star into one stop. The rest are completionist pickups: valuable, but they will still be there when you sweep each district properly.
FAQ
Are any of the 16 upgrades permanently missable? None of the locations close off for good in the sources we checked; the town stays open for backtracking through most of the game. Pouch 7 is the time-sensitive one — it depends on the digging man's story finishing, so check the caravan once the cable car is running.
Does stamina affect anything besides sprinting? Yes. Sprinting, dodging and heavy melee swings all draw on the same bar, which is why the coffee upgrades read as combat upgrades in practice.
Do pouches add a fixed number of slots? Each pouch expands the grid; with all nine, the bag is a different object from the one you start with. The exact per-pouch gain matters less than the order — early pouches are worth more because you carry them longer.
