Mycopunk Resources and Drops Guide: Loot, Focus, Certificates and Upgrades
Guide chapters16 chapters

Mycopunk loot is not a pile of random guns. It is upgrades that fit into grids in shapes, rarities that unlock on a level ladder, a Focus system that opens at level 4, and certificates that force your next drops to be the weapon you actually use. This guide explains how each piece works, and where the numbers stop being verified.

What loot actually is here

The official description calls Mycopunk a mission-based looter shooter with hundreds of hand-crafted upgrades. The loot loop is therefore upgrade-first: you run missions, you collect upgrades, and you fit them into limited weapon and body grids in different shapes and patterns. Weapons matter, but the grid is where a build is made.

The rarity ladder

According to player community sources, rarities enter the rotation as you level: Standard at level 3, Rare at level 8, Epic at level 16, and Exotic and above at level

30. In other words, the loot pool itself grows with you. An early player is not unlucky for never seeing an Exotic; the tier is not in the rotation yet.

A level 30 notice: upgrades can now be rotated, over an upgrade grid.

Level 30 is a double milestone: it opens the top rarity tiers, and the in-game notice at that level says upgrades can be rotated, which changes how you pack a grid. The two screenshots of level 30 notices in this guide show the same message on different weapons, so treat rotation as a level 30 system unlock, not a weapon perk.

Weapon Focus, at level 4

According to player community sources, weapon Focus unlocks at level 4 from the inventory. This guide states the unlock and stops there: the community material used here does not give a verified description of what Focus changes beyond that unlock, and inventing one would be worse than admitting the gap. If you are below level 4, Focus is simply not open yet; if you are at level 4, open the inventory and look for it.

Clearance Certificates: force the next drops

According to player community sources, Clearance Certificates guarantee that the next 5 drops are all your current primary weapon. That is the single most useful loot tool in this guide, because it turns a random drop stream into a targeted farm: pick the primary you want to feed, use the certificate, and the next five drops work for that weapon instead of against it.

Grid shapes, scaling and the 1.0 change

According to player community sources, upgrades sit in the grid in different shapes and patterns, and since 1.0 most upgrade stats scale with pattern size, while smaller infused upgrades became weaker. A few named patterns also changed in 1.0, including Tumbleweed, Big Fat Doobie, Shock Recursion and Double Shot. The practical rule is: a bigger pattern is not just tidier, it is stronger, and shrinking an infused upgrade to make room now costs you more than it used to.

Space Optimization, the achievement for fitting 9 upgrades on one grid, is the natural test of this system. If you can pack nine pieces into one grid without shrinking the ones that matter, you understand the shape game.

Diffraction Driver: the level 10 resource unlock

The Diffraction Driver is the 1.0 new ion scatter gun, according to player community sources: a short-range cone weapon whose alternate fire charges a wheel that narrows and extends its range, unlocked with resources at level

10. Note the wording: it is a resource unlock at level 10, not a drop you wait for. If you are level 10 and have the resources, go and unlock it rather than farming missions hoping it falls out of a crate.

The weapons inventory, with an Exotic Resource tooltip: debris from a mysterious device.

Salvaged weapons such as the Broken Frame show the other side of loot: gear itself can be collected and built around, not only upgrades. The inventory screen tracks resource totals across the top, and one tooltip labels an Exotic Resource as debris from a mysterious device. This guide does not name resource types beyond what the screenshots show, because the factpack used here does not verify a resource list.

Ouroboros loot and the Cleanse screen

The Cleanse Upgrades screen: Ouroboros upgrades kept permanently, or lost on the next run.

Ouroboros is the roguelike mode, according to player community sources, and it is good for farming objectives and trying builds. Its detailed rules are not verified for this guide. What the game screen itself says, pictured above, is that upgrades from Ouroboros can be cleansed to keep them around permanently, and that uncleaned upgrades disappear the next time you start Ouroboros. So the loot rule for Ouroboros is simple: cleanse what you want to keep before your next run, or accept losing it.

How do I keep upgrades I earn in Ouroboros?

Cleanse them. The in-game Cleanse screen says cleansed Ouroboros upgrades stay permanently, while uncleaned ones disappear the next time you start Ouroboros.

How do I unlock the Diffraction Driver?
