Path of Exile 2 leaves Early Access on December 11

The full release arrives with the Conquerors of Wraeclast challenge league, a new Shadow class, and the final two acts of the campaign. The new endgame storyline has players joining Varek and his mercenaries to conquer Wraeclast and stop the awakening of the ancient Blood Lord: rescuing allies, locating enemy fortifications, deploying troops on the battlefield, and leading an army to victory. Path of Exile 2 entered Early Access in December 2024, so the full release comes almost exactly two years later. It will be free to play on PC, Mac, Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Covens of Umbra hits the original game on November 13

Path of Exile: Covens of Umbra, patch 3.30, launches November 13 at 11:00 AM PST as a free update on PC, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store. In the Covens challenge league, players disrupt covenites performing rites to summon the Coven Queen, then choose a Fate for the boss of the area: each Fate raises the rewards and the difficulty, and up to three can be invoked on one boss. Fate-empowered bosses drop Viscera, trophies that players place on their own Wickerman to claim a scrap of the fallen boss's power; every campaign boss and every Atlas map boss has a unique Viscera. Grim Fates extend the system to the hardest Atlas bosses, with Pinnacle Boss Viscera as the reward and a possible confrontation with the Coven Queen herself. The current Curse of the Allflame league ends November 9 at 1:00 PM PST.

Endgame overhaul: Threads of Creation, Atlas tree, loot rework

Covens of Umbra also rebuilds much of the endgame. Scarabs are gone, replaced by Threads of Creation: set directly in the Map device, a Thread applies a chosen league mechanic to the area while scaling monster rarity and difficulty, and each Thread spent raises the chance of powerful effects augmenting that mechanic. The Atlas passive tree has been completely refreshed with a new layout and dozens of entirely new wheels, stats, and effects, many previously locked behind Scarabs. Almost every endgame league mechanic has been augmented, modified, or revamped, Mirages return covering the entire map, and Saresh returns as a harder fight. Loot drops get a fundamental rework: unidentified Magic and Rare items at endgame can now drop with a tier, so players can tell at a glance which items are worth identifying, and rarity on maps and monsters now improves all types of drops. New Unique items arrive as usual, and five new Core Supporter Packs are available.

Path of Exile: Covens of Umbra launches November 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM PST, and Path of Exile 2 leaves Early Access on December 11,

2026. Both are free to play on PC and consoles. Full patch notes for 3.30 have not been released yet.
