Valheim added achievements with 1.0, and the combat set is the spine of the whole list. There are 53 achievements in total, 37 visible and 16 hidden until you trigger them, and the tracker only counts progress made after the 1.0 install. Old Early Access kills do not count, so even Eikthyr needs a fresh kill.
First, protect your save
Using console commands such as spawn places a permanent flag on your character and world save that locks both out of all achievements, and the achievements screen will say so outright. Characters that used commands before 1.0 carry the same flag. Picking up a cheated item puts you in a temporary locked state, and you become eligible again once you throw every cheated item out of your inventory, as long as you were not the one who spawned it. Certain world modifiers, including hammer-mode, count as a temporary cheat and block specific achievements too.
The eight boss kill achievements
Each main boss carries its own achievement, listed under an alternate title rather than the boss name you know. Summon each one from its altar, or reach it directly in its dungeon, and defeat it. The boss guides in this column cover each summon and fight in full.

| Achievement | Boss true name | Where |
|---|---|---|
Eikthyr | Lightning Stag | Meadows altar |
The Elder | Living Forest | Black Forest altar |
Bonemass | Writhing Dead | Swamp altar |
Moder | Dragon Mother | Mountain summit |
Yagluth | Twisted Soul | Plains altar |
The Seeker Queen | Crawling Matriarch | Mistlands Infested Citadel |
Fader | Emerald Flame | Ashlands coliseum |
Kall Fimbulbringer | Shackled One | Deep North Aesir Passage, Strange Bowl |
The difficulty ladder: Viking, Tough, Toughest
Swipe horizontally to view all columns.
| Achievement | Requirement | Tier |
|---|---|---|
The Viking | Defeat all bosses on any difficulty | Bronze |
The Tough Viking | Defeat all bosses on normal difficulty or higher | Bronze |
The Toughest Viking | Defeat all bosses on hard difficulty | Silver |
The Toughest Viking rolls up the two lower tiers, since clearing every boss on hard also satisfies any difficulty and normal or higher. If you plan to go for the hardest tier, do the whole boss chain on hard from the start rather than replaying it: the tracker does not retroactively credit Early Access kills, and a clean hard run is the shortest path to all three.
Solo, co-op, and minibosses
Swipe horizontally to view all columns.
| Achievement | Requirement |
|---|---|
Lone Wolf | Kill a boss solo, Eikthyr is the easy starter |
Stronger Together | Kill any boss in co-op with a friend |
Odin is Pleased | Defeat all minibosses found in dungeons |
Do Lone Wolf first with Eikthyr, then do Stronger Together on any later boss with a friend. Odin is Pleased is the slow one: it wants every dungeon miniboss, so clear dungeons thoroughly instead of rushing to the exit, and keep a list of which dungeons you have fully cleared.
Creature kills and trophies
Swipe horizontally to view all columns.
| Achievement | Requirement | Tier |
|---|---|---|
The Hunter | Kill every kind of creature at least once | Bronze |
The Master Hunter | Kill every kind of creature on hard difficulty | Silver |
The Trophy Collector | Collect all trophies, including the Sea Serpent | Bronze |
The Master Hunter also unlocks The Hunter, since killing every creature on hard satisfies the any-difficulty version too. The practical route is to finish a normal playthrough first, learn where each creature lives, then do the hard-difficulty sweep with that knowledge. The Trophy Collector is the checklist behind both: display trophies on item stands as you collect them, so gaps are visible instead of guessed.
The combat spirit achievements
Two capstone achievements sit on top of the combat set, and neither needs a new task: they unlock automatically when their components are done. Child of Odin, a Gold achievement, requires The Toughest Viking, The Master Hunter, The Survivor, and The Pathfinder. Kings and Queens of Valheim, also Gold, requires The Viking, The Hunter, The Artisan, The Master Chef, The Carpenter, and The Explorer. The Platinum, The Most Worthy, unlocks only after every other achievement in the game is done.
A sensible order
Normal playthrough: all eight boss kills, Lone Wolf on Eikthyr, Stronger Together with a friend, and every dungeon miniboss you meet.
Trophy and creature sweep: fill the trophy wall and the creature list before the hard run, so you know where everything lives.
Hard run: the full boss chain on hard, plus every creature on hard, for The Toughest Viking and The Master Hunter together.
Capstones last: Child of Odin and Kings and Queens of Valheim unlock on their own, and The Most Worthy follows the final achievement.
One gap to be honest about: the full miniboss roster for Odin is Pleased is not enumerated in the sources used for this guide, so no list is printed here. Clear every dungeon type you find, and treat any dungeon you rushed through as unfinished business.
