A detailed guide to the hidden quest unlocked by the Havoc in Heaven dungeon series.
How the challenge works
1. Form a party of 5 eligible players. Until the quest is complete, you cannot complete it with anyone outside this team.
2. Speak to Qinglian Fairy at Chaoyin Cave (25,
15) to enter.
3. Time limit: 120 minutes overall and 40 minutes per encounter.
4. The dungeon resets every 4 days.
5. Fight in this order: Ran Jin (Metal) → Rui Mu (Wood) → Su Shui (Water) → Sui Huo (Fire) → Xiang Tu (Earth).
6. Rewards include experience, money and a chance of random items.
1. Double and triple reward time does not apply.
2. Death is non-standard: revive on the spot without a loss.
3. The area is open all day. Attempt the quest at any time; it clears upon completion.
4. Losing a battle fails the quest.
5. Running out of time fails and clears the quest and sends players in the area to a random location in Chang'an.
6. You may leave using Flying Talismans, Guide Flags, the Moonlight Treasure Box or sect-return spells. Speak to Qinglian Fairy again and choose the relevant option to return to Five Elements Mountain.
7. Logging out does not remove the quest. If time expires during battle, finishing that battle normally still grants its reward. Players outside battle have their quest cleared and are sent to a random Chang'an location.
1. Complete Birth of the Monkey King, Great Sage Equal to Heaven and Havoc in Heaven, earning at least 80, 60 and 50 dungeon points respectively.
2. Points converted from the Three Realms Secret Order do not count.
3. Completing all three dungeons automatically grants the Five Elements Challenge quest.
4. Earn the required points and remain online when the dungeons finish for the quest to trigger.
On the Buddha's instructions, Guanyin travels to Tang China to find pilgrims. The Great Sage who caused havoc in Heaven is one of her candidates, but the unruly monkey remains difficult to tame. Even the Buddha's Five Elements Stones can barely contain him. With Five Elements Mountain becoming unstable, the heroes must secure it, curb his rebellious spirit and help him devote himself to Buddhism and the journey west.
Gather 5 eligible players, speak to Qinglian Fairy at Chaoyin Cave (25, 15), and select option 1 to enter.
Encounter 1: Ran Jin Stone (Metal)
Speak to Ran Jin Stone at Five Elements Mountain (57,
80) to begin.
Only the boss is present at the start. A pet with Barrier Break can be useful.
1. The boss summons Desire enemies until all slots are filled, then defends during that same turn.
2. When an add is knocked out of the battle, the boss summons replacements to fill the slots and defends again.
3. If no add is knocked out, the boss does not defend.
The boss has slightly high HP; adds have slightly low HP. Damage and defenses are average.
1. Focus single-target attacks on the boss.
2. Once the boss is dead, or nearly dead, finish with area attacks.
Encounter 2: Rui Mu Stone (Wood)
Speak to Rui Mu Stone at Five Elements Mountain (17,
57) to begin.
HP, damage and defenses are average.
1. Seal 1–2 Fangcun enemies, represented by pink bubbles. Defeat the Shituo enemies, represented by blue bubbles, one at a time.
2. Defeat the remaining enemies individually.
Use Jingqing to remove seals when needed.
Encounter 3: Su Shui Stone (Water)
Speak to Su Shui Stone at Five Elements Mountain (40,
24) to begin.
The white bubble shown on the left is the target. Once it is knocked out, the black bubbles flee. After your party acts in turn 1, the bubbles change position and color, as shown on the right, so keep track of the original white bubble. It has slightly high HP. Black bubbles can revive indefinitely; damage and defenses are average.
1. Focus single-target attacks on the original white bubble.
2. Once it is dead, defend.
Use the command feature (Alt+V) to put any marker on the white bubble. The marker saves you from having to remember its position.
Encounter 4: Sui Huo Stone (Fire)
Speak to Sui Huo Stone at Five Elements Mountain (100,
26) to begin.
HP and defenses are average, but damage is slightly high. Equipment with Rubies can help.
Seal one add and defeat the enemies one at a time.
The enemy uses Jingqing if 2 or more enemies are sealed.
Encounter 5: Xiang Tu Stone (Earth)
Speak to Xiang Tu Stone at Five Elements Mountain (108,
66) to begin.
Like the Black Wind Mountain boss, this fight uses a rotating attack cycle. Only units taking their active turn receive normal damage; the others have very high defenses.
After your party acts in turn 1, the enemies change position, as illustrated. The repeating order is Ao → Jiao → Heng, or blue → purple → green.
Ao, Jiao and Heng have slightly high HP and damage, with average defenses when active. Lan and San have very low defenses and damage, with average HP.
For physical attackers such as Datang, the Wuxin Chaliu rune combination lets normal attacks on Lan or San deal substantial splash damage, shortening the fight.
1. On turns 1, 4, 7 and so on, attack Ao.
2. On turns 2, 5, 8 and so on, attack Jiao and seal the other Jiao.
3. On turns 3, 6, 9 and so on, attack Heng and seal the other Heng.
4. Defend when only the boss remains. With sufficient damage, you can knock out two targets together.
