Update 2.5, called the Edgerunners 2 Update, is a free update that launched on October 22, 2026 on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with the Switch 2 and Mac App Store versions following days later. Its headline features are dual-wield pistols under the new Cool-tree perk Double Trouble, hand-cyberware appearance customization at five Glamdoc shops, and in-game cross-platform mod support through mod.io. It also adds two side quests, a new radio station, new outfits, save grouping, and DLSS 4.5 support. It does not add multiplayer, and it does not change the base story.

Quick answers

  • 2.5 is free, and it is the current version of the game. If you are installing today, you are installing 2.5.

  • Dual-wield works with Power pistols and revolvers only. Tech and Smart weapons, SMGs, shotguns, rifles, and melee weapons are excluded.

  • Glamdoc customization changes how hand cyberware looks, not how it performs. Five shops, each with its own intro story.

  • Mod support runs through mod.io inside the game on PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Switch 2 is excluded.

  • Hotfix 2.500.200 (October 27,

2026) fixes one issue only: Argentina players unable to access saved game data. It changes nothing else.

1. Dual-wield pistols: Double Trouble and its four helpers

For the first time in the game, you can wield two pistols at once. The gate is Double Trouble, a perk in the Cool attribute tree, and it works with Power pistols and revolvers. Four auxiliary perks support the style: Triple Tequila, Keep Em Comin, Two Right Hands, and Splash of Love. At level 2, Double Trouble unlocks Heywood Hurricane: both guns fire within one second, spread increases by 50%, and the trigger is controller R3 or keyboard Q, consuming Triple Tequila stacks for extra damage. Read the numbers in this paragraph with care: the perk levels, damage figures, and trigger details above come from launch-day player transcription of in-game text, not from patch-notes wording, so treat exact figures as transcription calibre and check them in your own game before you build around them.

2. Glamdoc: hand cyberware you can finally dress up

Update 2.5 adds appearance customization for hand cyberware: Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, and the Projectile Launch System. Five Glamdoc shops offer the service, marked by a spray-paint map icon, and each shop has its own intro story and its own cyberware skin catalogue, with colours adjustable. This is appearance only: it does not change damage, stats, or cyberware capacity. If you want the full shop-by-shop breakdown, see our cyberware and Glamdoc guide in the related list below.

3. Cross-platform mod support via mod.io

Update 2.5 adds in-game mod support through mod.io on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. Mods are browsed and installed inside the game, and the same mod catalogue is shared across those platforms. Two limits matter. First, Switch 2 is excluded from mod support. Second, on consoles, saves played with mods do not earn achievements or trophies. Separately, the community co-op mod that lets players play together is community content, not an official feature: 2.5 adds mod support, not multiplayer, and the two must not be confused.

Tour experience and story content

Clampdown is the quest with a checklist: finish The Heist, do two gigs for Wakako, then wait for her message before you go looking for it. Welcome to Paradise is the lighter of the two, a guided tour of the city narrated by its founder, Richard Night. For full walkthroughs of both, see our Clampdown and Welcome to Paradise guide in the related list below. The tie-in series, Edgerunners 2, is a separate work: 10 episodes on Netflix, premiered October 20, 2026, telling a standalone story set in 2078, one year after the base game.

5. Radio, Photo Mode, outfits, and saves

The smaller additions are still worth knowing. HKGN 102.0 FM is a new radio station playing Edgerunners tracks. Photo Mode gains Cyberpunk card-game borders and dual-wield poses, so the new playstyle is photogenic by design. Five new outfit sets arrive from in-world brands: Maxiwear (Heywood, Arroyo, Little China), Jinguji (City Center), NetWatch (Kabuki, Japantown), and IconAmerica (Pacifica, Badlands, Northside). And the Load Game menu now groups saves by playthrough, which matters more than it sounds once you have several Vs.

6. Performance: DLSS 4.5 and the FSR shuffle

Update 2.5 adds DLSS 4.5 support on compatible NVIDIA hardware, including up to 6x multi-frame generation, dynamic multi-frame generation, and a second-generation Transformer model. On the AMD side, the FSR options change: FSR 3 upscaling is removed, while FSR 2.1, FSR 4, and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain. If you return to the game and your old upscaler setting is gone, this is why: re-check the graphics menu rather than assuming a bug.
