Quick answer
Buy it at $159.99 if you are starting to stream or upgrading from the original Yeti: the auto tracking and de-noising remove the two things new streamers get wrong most, gain and background noise. Wait if you already own a Yeti GX and are happy with it, or if you can wait for a Black Friday discount.

Basic Tutorials | 92/100, Gold Award | 92 out of 100 with a Gold Award |

What players say
Amazon, checked November 3, 2026: 4.3 stars from 32 ratings, at $159.99. That is an early sample, so there is no reliable pattern yet in what owners praise or complain about most, and we will not invent one. The number to watch is 100 ratings: that is when we will update this section with what owners actually say.
What is new
3D proximity sensor watches the front 90 degrees and adjusts gain, EQ, and pickup pattern automatically as you move
AI De-Noise in three levels: level 1 for fan noise, level 2 adds keyboard and mouse clicks
Eight pickup patterns: cardioid, supercardioid, hypercardioid, bidirectional, omnidirectional, stereo, auto, and custom
Three-capsule array, 24-bit / 48kHz, with Blue VO!CE processing running on the mic itself
1.3-inch LED display with five onboard presets, plus a 3.5mm headphone jack for monitoring
USB-C only, no XLR. 995 g with the included stand; 5/8-inch-27 thread for a boom arm, check the arm weight rating first
The display is the most visible change from the original Yeti. It shows gain, the active preset, and the pickup pattern, with a Yeti character on screen to guide you. Five presets are stored on the mic, so the settings travel with it instead of living in software.
The included stand holds the mic at desk height and tilts for aiming. For a boom arm, the 5/8-inch-27 thread fits standard mounts, but check the arm weight rating first: at 995 g with the stand, the Yeti 2 is a heavy mic for a light arm.

The original Yeti still sells: 57,184 Amazon ratings at $99.99. The Yeti 2 costs $20 more than the original list price and $60 more than its current Amazon price. The Yeti GX costs $10 more than the Yeti 2 and is a different mic: dynamic capsule, one pattern, built for a close broadcast sound.
The drawbacks
No XLR. If your setup is built around an audio interface, this mic does not fit it
Automatic gain can shift audibly at times, according to the reviews so far
Automatic tracking is not perfect: it helps, but it does not replace placing the mic well
The control knob occasionally misses an input, TechRadar notes
$20 to $60 more than the original Yeti, which is still on sale at $99.99
Buy or wait
Buy at $159.99 if you are a new streamer, or if you are upgrading from the original Yeti and want the auto tracking, the de-noising, and the display. Wait if you already own a Yeti GX and like it: the Yeti 2 is not $159.99 better for you. Wait as well if you can hold until Black Friday: a new mic at full price is the worst time to buy it.
Who should not buy it
You already own a Yeti GX and are happy with it
You need XLR for an audio interface setup
Your budget is under $100: the original Yeti at $99.99 covers the basics

FAQ
Does the Yeti 2 need an audio interface? No. It connects by USB-C and works plug-and-play; there is no XLR input at all.
Is 32 Amazon ratings enough to trust? Not yet. It is an early sample, and this review says so up front. We will update it when ratings pass 100.
Can it go on a boom arm? Yes, it has a 5/8-inch-27 thread, but check the arm weight rating first: the mic weighs 995 g with its stand.
What do the five onboard presets do? They store ready-made settings on the mic, so you can switch without opening software.
When did it launch? Announced September 23, 2026, on sale from October 15, 2026.
Bottom line: the Yeti 2 is a real upgrade over the original Yeti for new streamers, with auto tracking and de-noising doing work that used to need manual setup. At $159.99 it is a buy for that group, and a wait for everyone else. Prices and ratings on this page were checked on November 7, 2026, and the Amazon rating count will be updated when it passes 100.
