Silver Pines All Endings Guide: How to Get Leave, Rest, and Live

All three Silver Pines endings in one guide: kill Eddie for Leave, burn all 25 Mementos for Live, or take two Gold Rings into the Rabbit Hole for Rest, from a single payphone save.

Silver Pines All Endings Guide: How to Get Leave, Rest, and Live
Guide chapters11 chapters

Silver Pines has three endings, and all three run through one conversation. After the final boss, you meet Eddie Velvet, and the game asks what Red Walker does with him: kill him, or walk away. Kill him and you get Leave. Walk away and two longer routes open, one built on burning everything you collected, the other on two gold rings and a hidden boss. This guide gives each route in full, including the single payphone save that lets you see all three in one playthrough. Light story spoilers follow, and the biggest trap is flagged first: at Eddie, the dialogue option labelled Leave is the spare option, not the Leave ending.

At a glance

  • Endings: 3 — Leave, Rest, Live

  • The branch point: kill or spare Eddie Velvet after the final boss

  • Leave: kill Eddie Velvet. No collectible requirements.

  • Live: spare Eddie, collect all 25 Mementos, burn them in Drew's furnace.

  • Rest: spare Eddie, collect 5 Gold Stars, open the Locked Ring Box, take both Gold Rings to the Rabbit Hole, defeat the secret boss.

  • One-playthrough method: manual payphone save before speaking to Eddie.

  • Unlocks: Leave gives the Switchblade, Live gives the Omega Rifle, Rest gives a reusable repair kit (reported).

The branch point: save before you speak to Eddie

Beat the final boss, the Flesh Tree, and pick up the Polaroid Negative Memento from the ground nearby. It is the last Memento in the game, and the Live route needs the full set of 25, so check it is in your bag before you move on. There is a phone nearby: make a manual payphone save here, before you speak to Eddie. This save is the whole trick. Every branch below starts from it, and overwriting it mid-branch is the one mistake that costs you a new playthrough.

Walk to Eddie Velvet and talk to him twice. The choice then appears: Kill Eddie Velvet, or Leave. Read those two options carefully, because the wording is a trap. Kill Eddie Velvet is the Leave ending. Leave is the spare option: Red walks away, Eddie lives, and you are sent back to Downtown with the Live and Rest routes open. If you want Rest or Live, choose Leave. If you want the Leave ending, choose Kill Eddie Velvet.

Ending 1: Leave

Leave is the default ending and the only one with no homework attached. From the branch save, choose Kill Eddie Velvet. Red completes the contract he was hired for. The closing sequence puts him outside the Miner Diner: a phone rings, he answers it, and he drives out of town. Leave unlocks the Switchblade for your next playthrough. Because it is the shortest branch, play it first from the branch save, then reload for the two longer routes.

Ending 2: Live

Live asks you to spare Eddie and then let go of everything you collected. From the branch save, choose the Leave dialogue option to spare him. You are sent back to Downtown. Go right, climb the ladder by the wrecked car, and speak to the man leaning against the wrecked vehicle. Then travel back to the Outskirts island by ferry and find Drew, the Burnt Man, by the coast west of Rodney's General Store.

Speak to Drew until he mentions the furnace. He will only raise it if your Memento set is complete: all 25, including the Polaroid Negative from the final boss. If he does not mention it, you are still missing pieces, and collecting them after sparing Eddie, before committing to the furnace, is still possible. When the set is complete, enter the shack to the east of his spot, interact with the burning furnace, and confirm that you want to burn everything. Burning the set triggers the Live ending, and Live unlocks the Omega Rifle for your next run. One counting note: the Old Corsage and the Bloody Corsage share one slot, from the same Church Hill cemetery dig, and only one is available in a single playthrough. Either one fills the slot, so Live does not require obtaining both.

Ending 3: Rest

Rest is the longest route and the only one with extra playable content: a hidden version of the Rabbit Hole Bar and a secret boss fight. It needs two Gold Rings. One comes from a locked box you have carried since the start of the game. The other only appears after you spare Eddie. Do the star hunt before the finale, so both rings are ready when you reload the branch save.

The five Gold Stars

The Locked Ring Box sits in the Miner Diner restroom, on the faucet by the sink. Carry it with you. Its lid has five gaps, and the fifth star pops it open. Combine the stars with the box one at a time, not all at once. Inside is the first Gold Ring, Eddie's Gold Ring. The five stars, in route order:

  • Rabbit Hole Bar: on a table in the middle of the bar, during your first Downtown bar vision.

  • Crimson Bear Motel, Room 3: take the Motel Room Key from the top of the Outskirts lighthouse (use the Sledgehammer on the lighthouse wall and climb it), enter Room 3, and open its inner lock with

    6671. The star is inside.

  • Quiet Hour Cafe: beside the wounded cowboy, after the Church Hill and cemetery sequence. Speak to him first.

  • Downtown caravan: after ringing all the cable car bells, take the digging man's shovel from inside his caravan, dig in the hole yourself, and take the star from the crate at the bottom.

  • Thelend Broadcasting entrance: speak to the girl in the yellow raincoat until she lies down, then collect the star she leaves behind.

The Rest route, step by step

With the first ring already in your inventory, reload the branch save and spare Eddie by choosing the Leave dialogue option. You return to Downtown. Go left to the water and find Alice Baker's floating body. Inspect her body and take the Gold Ring from her finger. That is the second ring.

Return to the Rabbit Hole Bar, go behind the bar to the stage area, and find the wall with two circular ring indents. Insert both rings. You wake in a wrong, alternate version of the bar. Talk to the woman in red, then the Bartender, then prepare in the supply room: there is a storage container and free supplies, and you should use both. The final NPC, the Server, starts the secret boss encounter when he learns you refused to kill Eddie. The fight is a chase first: run forward past the obstacles, move out from under falling debris, duck the long poke attack, and stay out of the poison. The ground breaks into a second chase that ends back at the Miner Diner, where you make your last stand. Talk to what remains of the boss, then leave through the exit door, and the Rest ending plays. Rest reportedly unlocks a reusable repair kit.

All three endings in one playthrough

  • During the main run: collect all 25 Mementos (the Polaroid Negative comes from the final boss) and all 5 Gold Stars, and open the Locked Ring Box.

  • After the final boss, grab the Polaroid Negative and make a manual save at the payphone near Eddie.

  • Play Leave first (kill Eddie). Shortest branch, done.

  • Reload. Spare Eddie and run the Live route (Downtown detour, then Drew's furnace).

  • Reload. Spare Eddie and run the Rest route (Alice's ring, the Rabbit Hole, the secret boss). Keep this as your final save: Rest is the longest route.

A conflicting claim, checked and set aside

Two ending guides, games.gg and xmodhub, publish a different system: endings sorted by cassette tape count (Leave at 0 to 14 tapes, Rest at 15 to 22, Live at all 23), plus sparing three town figures named the Mayor, the Teacher and the Doctor. We checked that claim against the game's own records and against the detailed walkthroughs, and it does not hold up. First, the Steam achievement schema for Silver Pines, pulled first-hand on 2026-11-02, lists 23 achievements in total. There is no achievement called True Survivor and no achievement called Martyr of the Pines, both of which those guides cite. There is no tape-collection achievement and no boss-sparing achievement at all; the collectible achievements cover maps, inventory upgrades, stamina upgrades, Mementos and Memento slots only. Second, the achievement descriptions recorded for the three endings point the other way: Leave is Complete the contract: Kill Eddie Velvet, Live is Burn it all, and Rest is Return to the Rabbit Hole. Third, every detailed walkthrough that plays through the endings step by step, Into Indie Games Part 8, 9puz, Bonus Action, Gamer Social Club and Last Word on Gaming, gives the physical routes in this guide with no tape-count gate and no boss-sparing gate, and none of them reports a run failing at the furnace or at the Rabbit Hole for want of tapes. The Mayor, Teacher and Doctor names also appear in no detailed boss list, which instead names the tunnel creature, Deputy Roberts, the 4B creature, the Driver, the ship creature, the Congregation, the Sheriff, the Thelend boss, the Server and the Flesh Tree.

That is why this guide follows the physical routes and does not set a tape or boss-sparing requirement. Tapes are lore and completion material, not an ending gate on current evidence. One honest limit remains: this site did not verify the routes with its own playthrough; the routes above rest on the multi-source agreement and the achievement records just cited. If a future report shows a tape gate in play, this guide will be corrected.

FAQ

Which ending is the true ending? Sources split. Live is the resolution the furnace route builds toward, and Rest is the most complete in content, with a hidden area and an extra boss. Both take real work. Leave is the only one that asks for nothing.

Do I need all 23 cassette tapes for Live? On current evidence, no. No detailed walkthrough gates any ending on tapes, and the game has no tape-collection achievement. Collect tapes for the story, not for the ending check.

Can I get all three endings without replaying the game? Yes, with the payphone save before Eddie and the collectible work done in advance, all three branches are reachable from one file.

What carries into a new playthrough? Each ending unlocks a reward for the next run: the Switchblade (Leave), the Omega Rifle (Live), and reportedly a reusable repair kit (Rest).
