Valve shipped an updated Steam Client to the Preview/Beta channel on November 3, 2026, and the items that matter most for Steam Deck Beta testers are fixes to the Achievement Sets system that arrived in Beta on October 15: completed sets now show in the library when sorting by achievement completion, totals now count previously missed unlocks, the achievement page rarity threshold is fixed, and the play bar achievements button now opens the achievements panel. A controller firmware tweak in the same update reduces thumbstick touch sensitivity. None of this is a stable release yet.

Completed sets now show in the library sort
Achievement Sets, introduced in the October 15 Beta update, let games organize and group achievements for base game and DLC content, so DLC achievements can be added via sets without breaking game completion, and completed sets remain completed when new sets are added. The November 3 fix closes a visibility gap in that system: when you sort your library by achievement completion, completed achievement sets are now shown. Before this fix, a finished set could be missing from exactly the view where completion-focused players would look for it.
Totals, rarity, and the play bar button
Three more Achievement Sets corrections ship in the same Beta update. First, achievement totals now count unlocked achievements that were previously left out, so a total that looked short of what you had actually earned should now line up. Second, the rarity threshold on the achievement page is fixed; the post does not spell out the threshold values or which display cases were wrong, and this article does not guess at them. Third, the achievements button in the play bar now opens the achievements panel, a small navigation correction that puts the panel one click away during play.
Controller firmware: a lighter thumbstick touch
Outside the Achievement Sets section, the November 3 post carries one Steam Controller Firmware item: reduced thumbstick touch sensitivity, to reduce the likelihood of early detection of touch. Read it as tuning, not as a new controller feature: Valve describes a sensitivity reduction aimed at touches being registered too early, and the post gives no new hardware, button, or mode in this round.
October 15 was the launch, November 3 is the fix round
Do not read the November 3 update as the launch of Achievement Sets. The sets system arrived in Beta on October 15, 2026, when Valve shipped the Steam Deck Beta Client Update for that date with base game and DLC grouping, sets that stay completed when new sets are added, and archiving for seasonal or no-longer-achievable achievements and sets; Steam Deck HQ covered that October 15 update on October 16, and GamingOnLinux covered the same Beta the same week. The November 3 update is a follow-up fix round for that system, not a second launch, and this article keeps the two dates separate throughout.
Beta channel only, and what is not claimed here
Everything above is Preview/Beta channel only. Stable channel users do not get these fixes yet, and as with any Beta build, these behaviors are still in testing and may change before a stable release. This article covers the Achievement Sets items, the controller firmware item, and the window flash-black fix that could be verified from Valve November 3 Beta post; it does not claim to reproduce the post full changelog, and it makes no claim about prices, sales, player counts, a stable release date, or which other changelog sections the post may contain.
