Crimson Desert Base Game Achievements Guide: All 34 Achievements, Challenge Families, and the Order That Saves You Pain

The base game of Crimson Desert Enhanced has 34 Steam achievements, all non-hidden, verified from the official Steam schema on November 3, 2026. Almost all of them are challenge-family completions tracked in the in-game Journal, not one-off feats, so this guide groups all 34 by family, explains what each family asks, and gives the play order that avoids the late-game grind players complain about.

Guide chapters13 chapters

The base game of Crimson Desert Enhanced has 34 Steam achievements, and none of them are hidden. That is the good news. The harder news is that almost all of them are not single feats: each one asks you to complete a whole family of in-game challenges, tracked in the Journal under Challenges. This guide lists all 34, grouped by family, so you can see the real size of the job before you start, and it gives the order that keeps the late game from turning into a grind.

A character overlooking a valley with sword and shield ready: achievements here are a long campaign across the whole continent, not a checklist for week one.

At a glance

  • Scope: Base game only. The 7 Charting the Unknown DLC achievements are a separate guide, not part of this list.

  • Total: 34 achievements, all non-hidden, from the official Steam schema for app 3321460, checked November 3, 2026.

  • Structure: Story and camp, exploration, combat and system challenges, life and world, and two endgame completions.

  • Tracker: In-game Journal, then Challenges. If a family is not listed there, you have not unlocked it yet.

  • Old number warning: Older guides say 34 because the DLC had not launched. The current total with the DLC is 41.

1. How achievements actually work here

Read the official descriptions literally. Nearly every base achievement says complete all of one challenge family: all sword challenges, all sanctum challenges, all horse challenges, and so on. The achievement does not pop for one good fight or one clever puzzle; it pops when the family is empty. That is why the Journal is the real checklist, and why any guide that lists only achievement names without the families is useless.

Many families are gated behind Sealed Abyss Artifacts. Community guides report that these sealed artifacts sit along roads across Pywel, are not marked on the map, and appear as purple icons on the minimap when you are near. Pick one up, unseal it in your inventory, and it unlocks a challenge set. The full collecting system, including the reported total of 141 sealed artifacts, is covered in the base collectibles guide; the short version here is to grab them as you travel instead of saving them for a dedicated sweep.

An armored figure in a village yard: camps and settlements are where story and camp achievements bank, between stretches of open-world challenge hunting.

2. Story and camp: 5 achievements

These five come from playing the campaign and building the Greymane camp. They are the least grindy achievements in the game, and two of them are also gates: the camp at Howling Hill and the relocation to Pailune unlock systems that later families depend on.

Novice Adventurer

Complete chapter 1 of main quests

Play the main quests. This is the first story achievement and needs no detour.

Master Camper

Complete the activation of the camp at Howling Hill

Build the camp when the story brings you to Howling Hill. Do not postpone it: the camp is a system hub.

Proud Returnee

Complete the camp relocation to Pailune

Relocate the camp to Pailune when the option opens. It is a story beat, not a grind.

Protector of Pailune

Complete chapter 7 of main quests

Reach chapter

7. Community guides also report that a Pailune bell, one of the 8 Hidden Bells, is locked behind this chapter.

Expert Storyteller

Complete all main quests

Finish the main story. This is the natural end of the campaign, and the gate for most DLC content.

A temple courtyard with stone pagodas: the campaign passes places like this between story beats, and sanctums are a separate exploration family.

3. Exploration: 7 achievements

Exploration families are where the base game hides most of its hours. Mazes, spires, constellations, secret places, ancient ruins, and sanctums each form their own family, and Expert Explorer asks for all exploration challenges together. Community guides report 60 secret places, also called Abyss Cressets, and 37 ancient ruins puzzles; treat those totals as community-reported and confirm against your own Journal, which is authoritative for your save.

Maze Pathfinder

Complete all maze challenges

Clear the enclosed labyrinth areas. Community guides report only 4 mazes, which makes this one of the shortest exploration families.

Conqueror of Spires

Complete all spire challenges

Climb and clear the tall spire landmarks. They are visible from far away, so mark them as you travel.

Navigator of the Stars

Complete all constellation challenges

Follow the constellation patterns. These are puzzle-style challenges, not combat grinds.

Pilgrim of Wonders

Complete all secret place challenges

Activate the Abyss Cressets at secret places. Each one also becomes a fast travel point, so this family pays for itself.

Puzzle Solver

Complete all ancient ruins challenges

Solve the environmental puzzle in each ruin. The puzzle types vary, so expect tile, bell, and mechanism puzzles rather than one trick.

Lightbringer

Complete all sanctum challenges

Clear the sanctums. Keep sanctums and mazes separate in your head: they are different families.

Expert Explorer

Complete all exploration challenges

This pops only when every exploration family above is done. Treat it as a summary achievement, not a separate hunt.

A lone tall tower on a plain with a rider in the foreground: tall landmarks are how you orient an exploration sweep, and spires are their own achievement family.

4. Combat and system challenges: 15 achievements

This is the biggest block, and the one most affected by play order. Eight achievements cover one weapon family each: swords, shields, bows, spears, two-handed weapons, artillery, rapiers with shields, and firearms. The rest cover training, battles, operations, trade, New Power, Above the Law, and Challenges and Changes. If you play with one weapon only, you will finish the story with most of these families barely started.

Master of Swords

Complete all sword challenges

Use swords deliberately during the campaign, not only at the end.

Master of Shields

Complete all shield challenges

Pair shield play with sword play so both families advance together.

Master of Bows

Complete all bow challenges

Keep a bow in rotation for ranged encounters.

Master of Spears

Complete all spear challenges

Use spears on open ground where reach matters.

Master of Two-Handed Weapons

Complete all two-handed weapon challenges

Rotate in a two-handed weapon for heavy encounters.

Master of Artillery

Complete all cannon challenges

Use cannon-type tools when the game offers them; do not skip those encounters.

Master of Rapiers

Complete all rapier and shield challenges

This family pairs rapier with shield, so play it as a set.

Master of Firearms

Complete all gun challenges

Use guns across characters where available; note that Damiane ammunition economy is a player-reported pain point.

Relentless Warrior

Complete all training challenges

Do training challenges as they appear instead of batching them at the end.

Battlefield Conqueror

Complete all battle challenges

Clear battle challenges during faction and stronghold play, while enemy groups are still plentiful.

Brilliant Tactician

Complete all operation challenges

Follow operation objectives as they come; they are easy to leave behind.

The Golden Merchant

Complete all trade challenges

Trade steadily through the campaign rather than in one late splurge.

Beast Slayer

Complete all New Power challenges

Hunt the New Power targets as you meet them.

Shadowlord

Complete all Above the Law challenges

Play the outlaw-side content deliberately; it does not complete itself.

Lord of Honor

Complete all Challenges and Changes challenges

Treat this as a late-campaign sweep once its prerequisites are open.

A masked enemy attacking with a sword in tall grass: weapon-family achievements reward rotating weapons through the campaign, not finishing with one weapon only.

5. Life, world, and endgame: 7 achievements

Special equipment, horses, minigames, hunting, and life challenges form the world-living block. Then two achievements sit on top of everything: Conqueror of the Abysses for all Abyss challenges, and Unvanquished Strategist for all mastery challenges. Expect these two last.

AchievementOfficial requirementHow to approach it

Grand Collector of Arms

Complete all special equipment challenges

Collect special equipment as you find it; player reports warn that artifacts are scarce, so do not assume you can max everything.

Tamer of Legends

Complete all horse challenges

Ride often. Faction quests tie to random mounted encounters, and late-game travel tools make riding rare, so build the habit early.

True Gamer

Complete all minigame challenges

Play minigames in settlements as you pass through them.

Ultimate Hunter

Complete all hunting challenges

Hunt across regions during the campaign, not in one late region only.

Natural Collector

Complete all life challenges

Gather, fish, cook, and craft steadily; life challenges reward routine play.

Conqueror of the Abysses

Complete all Abyss challenges

Player reports warn that after finding most sealed Abyss content, the remainder needs pixel-level searching. Leave time for it.

Unvanquished Strategist

Complete all mastery challenges

This is the capstone. If it is still locked, some other family is still open; check the Journal family by family.

A rider on horseback among red flowers: horse challenges and mounted encounters are the reason to keep riding after fast travel and gliding arrive.
A character gliding through the sky: gliding reaches high places that riding cannot, which matters for secret places and spires.

6. The order that saves you pain

  • Build the Howling Hill camp early and relocate to Pailune when offered. Both unlock systems later families need.

  • Rotate weapons from the start. One-weapon play is the single biggest cause of a long endgame mop-up.

  • Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifacts along roads as you travel, and unseal them in your inventory promptly.

  • Ride instead of fast-travelling sometimes, especially before late-game travel tools arrive.

  • Do not clear every area completely before checking what progress is tied to it. Player reports warn that some challenge triggers get much harder once an area is empty.

  • Leave Abyss and mastery completions for last. They are summaries of everything else, not starting points.

A night Abyss site with glowing pillars: Abyss challenges are endgame work, so do not treat them as an early checklist.
An armored rider at full charge: rotating weapons and mounts through the campaign is what keeps the endgame short.

Frequently asked questions

How many base achievements are there?

34, all non-hidden, from the official Steam schema for app 3321460 checked November 3,

2026. With the Charting the Unknown DLC, the total is 41.

Are any base achievements missable?

The official schema does not mark any achievement missable or hidden. Player reports warn instead about grind: some challenge triggers get much harder after an area is cleared or after fast travel replaces riding. That is a difficulty warning, not an official missable flag.

Do I need the DLC for any of these 34?

No. All 34 are earnable in the base game. The 7 DLC achievements are separate and require Charting the Unknown.

Where do I check my progress?

In-game, under Journal and then Challenges, family by family. Steam shows only the popped achievements, not the per-challenge progress inside a family.
