DayZ punishes players who solve the wrong problem. Hunger is not Blood loss, bandaging does not restore Health, a full bottle does not guarantee safe water, and a larger backpack is not automatically an upgrade if its weight destroys your stamina. The reliable approach is to separate the problem into four steps: obtain food, handle it without contaminating yourself, convert risky food into a safer state and only then use it to stabilize the character.
