In Nasdara, radio broadcasts spell out a bunker location in Morse code. With a personal radio, charged battery, and the radio switched on, you can decode a bunker's coordinates and access code, travel to the grid, and enter an officially urban bunker. This guide explains the setup and entry, and states plainly that interior loot, frequencies, count, and rotation timer are unpublished.
Update 1.30 and the Badlands DLC let players restore ruined Nasdara houses into bases. Bohemia puts the count at over 5,000 rebuildable houses, and wells and irrigation tunnels are rebuildable too. Update 1.30 adds two motorbikes to DayZ on every map: the Jana 50 moped at around 70 km/h and the Bitrak 682 enduro at around 130 km/h. They use a new two-wheel physics model with ragdoll crashes, carry no inventory, seat one rider only, and need fuel. A compass tells you direction. A GPS gives coordinates. iZurvive gives map context. None of those tools can replace the first step: identify something in the world that proves where you are.
A single infected is rarely the most dangerous thing in DayZ. The real cost is what the encounter removes from your run: clothing durability, blood, bandages, stamina, ammunition, noise discipline and attention.
DayZ does not simply punish you for sprinting. Your maximum stamina is directly reduced by the weight you carry, and that changes which actions remain available. A pack full of useful items can become a bad loadout if it leaves you unable to vault, heavy attack or sprint when the fight starts.
The word Best on a jacket is only the start. Your actual heat comfort comes from the insulation of every relevant body slot, the condition of those items, how wet they are, local weather, wind, altitude, shelter and temporary heat buffer.
Fishing turns a handful of common materials into a repeatable food source without the noise and ammunition cost of hunting. The important part is that modern DayZ fishing is not the older Early Access system. The current loop uses an event cue: cast with a baited setup, watch the water, and release the action when the splash/bite event occurs. If you miss the timing window, you normally have to rebait and try again.
Badlands launched on October 15, 2026 with update 1.30. This guide expands the regional item set the 1.30 overview only summarized: four new firearms, golden variants, five melee weapons, desert clothing, territorial dogs, the desert monitor, the mouflon, new fish, and regional food and drink, with unconfirmed items marked as gaps.
