Baldur's Gate 3 Shadowheart Romance Guide: Act 1 Start, Nightsong & Act 3 Endings

At the tiefling celebration, Shadowheart can invite the player to share a bottle if approval is at least 20 and the relationship slots allow it. The private rendezvous plays near a waterfall. A passive Insight check reads that she expects a kiss, but failing the check does not kill the route: the next-day conversation can acknowledge that the player wishes they had kissed her. What does end the route is treating the night as a mistake or rejecting the connection outright.

Baldur's Gate 3 Romance Guide: All 8 Companion Romances, Lock-Ins & Halsin Rules

The full companion romances are Astarion, Gale, Karlach, Lae’zel, Shadowheart, Wyll, Halsin and Minthara. Jaheira and Minsc are permanent companions but are not romance options. The game also contains one-off intimate encounters — Mizora, the Emperor, Haarlep, the drow twins and others — but those are not equivalent to a multi-act companion relationship and can affect an existing romance differently.

Baldur's Gate 3 Companions Guide: Recruit All 10 Permanent Companions

Baldur’s Gate 3 has six Origin companions who can join in Act 1 — Shadowheart, Astarion, Gale, Lae’zel, Wyll and Karlach — plus four later permanent companions: Halsin, Minthara, Jaheira and Minsc. You only field four characters at once, but there is almost no reason to leave recruitable story content behind: recruit broadly, keep everyone at camp, then rotate companions into the active party when their personal quest or location matters.

Baldur's Gate 3 House of Hope Guide: Orphic Hammer, Hope & Raphael

The clean House of Hope route is: open the Devil’s Fee portal → accept Hope’s Debtor disguise → explore the House and Archive while neutral → obtain access to the Boudoir and the password from Raphael’s safe/notes → take the Orphic Hammer (or retrieve/destroy the Soul-Sworn Contract if that is your deal state) → use the Boudoir rejuvenation faucet if needed → enter Hope’s prison → use the Hammer on both crystals → return to the foyer → fight Raphael.

Baldur's Gate 3 Nightsong Guide: Spare or Kill, Shadowheart & Consequences

The Nightsong is Dame Aylin, an immortal aasimar tied to Ketheric Thorm’s immortality. With Shadowheart present, this scene is the biggest Act 2 fork in her personal story. Sparing Aylin moves Shadowheart away from Shar, preserves Aylin as an ally and keeps the Act 3 Nightsong continuation open. Killing Aylin makes Shadowheart a Dark Justiciar, removes Aylin, gives the Sharran reward route and causes Last Light Inn to lose Isobel’s protection and fall to the shadow curse.

Baldur's Gate 3 Gauntlet of Shar Guide: Trials, Umbral Gems & Spear of Night

The Gauntlet of Shar is the route to Ketheric’s relic and the Shadowfell. The trials themselves are recoverable. The final Shadowfell portal is not a casual dungeon door: crossing it is a major Act 2 cutoff that closes Act 1 access and resolves many unfinished quests. Visit Moonrise Towers as a social/infiltration area first, finish prisoner/vendor/companion business, and only enter the Shadowfell when the journal is clean enough for the run you want.

Baldur's Gate 3 Blood of Lathander Guide: Crest, Puzzle & Safe Route

The clean route is: solve the Dawnmaster stained-glass weapon puzzle in Rosymorn Monastery → take the Dawnmaster's Crest → finish the crèche/Inquisitor route → rotate the two Lathander statues → cross the three trapped barrier sections → insert the Crest into the final altar → take the Blood of Lathander. Using the Crest disables the defence system and skips the four-turn monastery-destruction emergency.

Baldur's Gate 3 Adamantine Forge Guide: Grym, Mithral Ore & Best Crafts

A normal playthrough contains two Mithral Ore veins around the Ancient Forge, so you can make exactly two Adamantine items. The forge accepts six mould types: Splint Armour, Scale Mail, Shield, Longsword, Mace and Scimitar. For most parties, the long-lived defensive pieces — Splint Armour, Scale Mail and especially the Shield — age better than the weapons because anti-critical effects, damage reduction and Reeling remain useful after ordinary weapon enchantments have moved on.

Baldur's Gate 3 Evocation Wizard Build: Fireball, Magic Missile & Spellbook

The reason to choose Evocation is not “Fire spells do more damage.” At Wizard 2, Sculpt Spells lets allies automatically succeed saving throws against your Evocation area spells and take no damage from those spells. That changes targeting: Fireball, Lightning Bolt and other eligible Evocations can be placed aggressively around melee allies instead of waiting for the room to become tidy.

Baldur's Gate 3 Fiend Warlock Build: Eldritch Blast, Tome, Fireball & Gear

A pure Fiend Warlock has fewer spell slots than a Wizard, but the slots come back on a Short Rest and automatically scale to the highest Pact Magic level you have. That changes how the class should be played. Hunger of Hadar, Fireball, Counterspell and Wall of Fire are not “save for the final boss” resources when two Short Rests — and a Bard's Song of Rest if present — can reload the core kit.
